Wayne Southall, 83, resident of Cordell, Oklahoma, was born on November 3, 1930, in Rocky, Oklahoma, to Clemith and Inez (Stafford) Southall, and passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, in Cordell, Oklahoma.
Wayne was born and raised in Rocky and graduated from Rocky High School. He had farmed in Tulia, Texas, and Dumas, Texas. Wayne married Patricia Anne Callahan on April 23, 1955, in Elk City. Wayne and Patricia moved to Cherryvale, Kansas, in 1963, where they farmed and raised their family. Wayne retired from Mistletoe Express/Beaver Express. He had been a farmer and rancher for many years in Labett County, Kansas. Wayne was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Cherryvale. He enjoyed flying, playing cards and working on equipment. He was very likeable, with great character. Wayne loved spending time with his family and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Clemith and Inez Southall, and his wife, Patricia Southall on January 2, 2011. Survivors include two daughters: Sharon Jahn and husband, Andy, of Allen, Texas, and Kay Parks and husband, Harrill, of Allen, Texas; one son: William Wayne Southall of Cherryvale, Kansas; best friend: Ruth Easter; five grandchildren. Funeral Services were held for Wayne Southall at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013, at the Musick-Varner Funeral Chapel, Cordell, Oklahoma. Burial followed in the Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
