Thelma Baumgart White

Thelma Baumgart White, 90, resident of Cordell, Oklahoma, was born on October 12, 1923, in Washita County, Oklahoma, to John and Catherine (Heit) Baumgart and passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013, in Cordell, Oklahoma. Thelma was born on the family farm, in northeast Washita County. She married Rodney White in 1951, and to this union, one child was born. Thelma raised her son in Cordell. She had been employed at the Cordell Farm and Garden, the Cordell National Bank and had been a clerk for several auction companies. Thelma had also cared for elderly people over the years. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Thelma also enjoyed watching and reading Westerns. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning and raising poultry. Thelma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Baumgart; two sisters; and one brother. Survivors include her son: Tim White and wife, Rachel, of Cordell, Oklahoma; one sister: Alice Goeringer of Corn, Oklahoma; two granddaughters: Adawn Ehmen and husband, Chris, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Amy Neeley and husband, Toy, of Dill City, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held for Thelma Baumgart White at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Peace Lutheran Church, Bessie, Oklahoma, with Pastor Rob Spicer, officiating. Burial followed in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Bessie, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
