State employees: You are worth significantly less to the state of Oklahoma than the top government executives. At least, that’s the message the State is broadcasting after granting some executives pay increases of up to five-figures. This after most state employees received no such increase in the latest state budget. In fact, state troopers and correctional officers are the lowest paid in the region according to The Daily Oklahoman. According to The Oklahoman, 30 percent of correctional workers qualify for food stamps, and 85 percent have children who qualify for school lunch programs.
