Floyd Nonast, 85, resident of Bessie, Oklahoma, was born on September 12, 1928, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Augusta (Lenaburg) Nonast, and passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Hydro, Oklahoma. Floyd was born in Clinton and raised in Bessie, on the family farm. He attended school in Bessie, and graduated high school in Clinton. Floyd married Nora Lue Chapman on July 3, 1953, at the Methodist parsonage in Arapaho, Oklahoma. She preceded Floyd in death in 1980. Floyd later married Virgina Intemann in 1982, in Bessie, Oklahoma. She preceded Floyd in death in 2005. Floyd had worked with Ernst Brothers Construction, for many years. He had also worked with Van Heating and Air, which he later owned and operated himself, until retiring in 2000. Floyd enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and dominos. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball and listening to the radio. Most of all, Floyd enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to fish. Survivors include one daughter: Rhonda Banning of Houston, Texas; one son: Rodney Nonast and wife, Cylinda of Cordell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Kyle Nonast and wife, Cassie, David Parrill and wife, Kelsey, Tyler Banning and wife, Meradith, and Jason Galloway and wife, Ashley; three great grandchildren; and a host of dear family and friends. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Augusta Nonast; five brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held for Floyd Nonast at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Peace Lutheran Church, Bessie, Oklahoma, with Pastor Rob Spicer, officiating. Burial followed in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Bessie, Oklahoma, under the direction of Musick-Varner Funeral Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
